Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

micro1 is engaging Adolescent/Child Safeguarding & Exploitation Specialists to contribute to a customer's project focused on assessing sexual safety and exploitation risk in adolescent scenarios. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Review complex adolescent cases to assess sexual safety and exploitation (CSE/CSA) risks.
  2. Produce clear, defensible written safeguarding guidance suitable for non-specialists.
  3. Apply recognised risk-assessment and safeguarding frameworks to evaluate urgency and appropriate interventions.
  4. Identify indicators of grooming, coercion, and exploitation within nuanced case details.
  5. Recommend protective actions and escalation pathways, including when mandatory reporting is warranted.
  6. Utilise a trauma-informed lens, weighing developmental, capacity, and consent factors in each assessment.
  7. Benchmark your clinical judgments against peer standards and established protocols to ensure guidance accuracy and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. 3–5+ years post-qualification experience in child safeguarding, adolescent-protection, or relevant clinical roles.
  2. Specialty background in child protection, forensic child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or paediatric medicine with a safeguarding remit.
  3. Active clinical license or registration in good standing.
  4. Current or recent (within the last two years) adolescent caseload or safeguarding practice.
  5. Demonstrated expertise in CSE/CSA risk assessment and mandatory-reporting requirements.
  6. Strong skills in trauma-informed practice and documentation.
  7. Exceptional written communication in research-grade English (native, or IELTS 7.5+/writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1–C2, or equivalent).
  8. Experience in a designated safeguarding or expert-witness capacity, and familiarity with ACEs and trauma frameworks, is a plus.
