Task description

Participants will complete a remote audio data collection task in Mexican Spanish using the TELUS data collection app.

Participants will record 66 utterances, including wake words at different speeds and positive and negative test utterances.

Participants must use their mobile phone’s built-in microphone and complete the recordings in a quiet indoor environment with minimal background noise and reverberation. They will be required to follow the on-screen prompts, maintain the specified speaking speeds for wake word recordings, and review and upload each recording through the app.

The complete recording session is expected to take up to 1 hour per participant.

Rate:

Mexican Spanish (esMX): $18.75

Compensation will be provided upon successful completion of the required tasks and client acceptance of the submitted recordings through the applicable quality review process.

What does the role involve?

What is the task to be performed?

The participating pair will record 5 different conversations (around 10 minutes each) with varied tones and animated delivery. Topics need to vary and cover a range of natural, informal subjects. These audio recordings will be used to train speech recognition systems.

Important points to remember:

To ensure your recordings meet the project requirements: Do not change or rephrase the prompts. Do not skip or add any words while reading the prompts. Do not tap or move the device while recording, make unnecessary mouth sounds before speaking, or say your mistakes out loud. If you make a mistake, simply tap Re-record and record the sentence again. Do not use a robotic, exaggerated, or unnatural speaking style. Speak in your normal, natural voice. Do not record in noisy environments or places with background noise or echo.
