About the Role

What if your years of rigorous scientific training could directly shape how AI understands and communicates biology to millions of people? We're looking for PhD-level Biologists to help evaluate and improve frontier AI systems — ensuring they reason accurately across molecular biology, genomics, physiology, systems biology, and beyond.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working scientists, researchers, and academics. Your deep domain expertise is the asset — no prior AI experience required.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI reasoning — critically analyze AI-generated answers to advanced biology questions, identify errors, and provide detailed, constructive feedback that directly improves model performance
• Develop expert content — design and curate challenging biology questions and training datasets spanning a wide spectrum of subfields and complexity levels
• Annotate domain knowledge — accurately label and categorize advanced biology concepts, scientific diagrams, experimental data, and specialized terminology
• Map conceptual relationships — synthesize and connect complex biological principles, helping AI models grasp the depth and structure of the field across areas like genomics, cell biology, and systems biology
• Review and refine — validate AI-generated solutions to research-level problems with the same rigor you'd apply to peer review

Who You Are

• You hold a PhD in Biology or a closely related field with deep expertise in research, teaching, or advanced problem-solving
• You have developed or critically reviewed complex scientific content — peer-reviewed publications, advanced curricula, laboratory research, or technical documentation
• You can communicate challenging biological concepts with precision and clarity
• You're detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working asynchronously without hand-holding
• You thrive on intellectually demanding work that rewards genuine expertise

• Specialization in molecular biology, genomics, systems biology, physiology, or a related subfield
• Experience creating or evaluating advanced scientific assessments or educational content
• Prior exposure to data labeling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation projects
