About the Role

What if your deep C++ expertise could directly shape the infrastructure powering the next generation of AI? We're looking for a Senior C++ Engineer to build and optimize the high-performance systems, data pipelines, and evaluation tooling that leading AI labs depend on every day.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role for engineers who live and breathe systems performance — and want their work to matter at scale.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance C++ systems supporting production AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
• Develop full-stack tooling and backend services for large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks — from cache misses and lock contention to architectural inefficiencies
• Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing C++ codebases used in real AI research workflows
• Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation pipelines
• Participate in synchronous design reviews to shape system architecture and implementation decisions

Who You Are

• 5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade C++ (C++17 or C++20 strongly preferred)
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, SIMD intrinsics, and cache coherency — you know how to squeeze performance out of compute-heavy workloads
• Expertise in lock-free programming and maximizing parallelism using modern threading libraries
• Full-stack development background with a strong systems programming foundation
• Clear, confident communicator — written and verbal — comfortable engaging in technical discussions and design reviews
• Native or fluent English speaker
• Able to commit 20–40 hours per week on a consistent basis

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation platforms, data quality systems, or evaluation infrastructure
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training pipelines, or benchmarking systems
• Experience with distributed systems architecture or developer tooling
• Background working directly with AI research teams or labs
