About the Role

We're looking for a Clinical Informatics Specialist to evaluate clinical data architectures, assess decision-support logic, and surface the gaps that matter most — all from wherever you work best.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced clinical informatics professionals who want meaningful, high-impact work without the constraints of a traditional employment arrangement.

What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate EMR-driven workflows and clinical data structures to identify inefficiencies and gaps
• Assess decision-support logic for accuracy, consistency, and clinical relevance — and flag where improvements are needed
• Summarize workflow behavior in clear, structured documentation, including edge cases and exception handling
• Evaluate data quality, interoperability, and transformation logic across clinical datasets
• Interpret and apply clinical standards, terminologies, and mapping frameworks — including FHIR, HL7, and SNOMED
• Support recurring reviews of healthcare informatics datasets to ensure ongoing accuracy and integrity

Who You Are

Must-Have:

• Background in clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or clinical operations
• Solid understanding of EMR systems, clinical data schemas, and interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, SNOMED CT)
• Strong analytical thinking — you're comfortable identifying patterns, inconsistencies, and root causes in complex data environments
• Clear and effective communicator who can translate technical findings for clinical and non-clinical audiences alike

Nice to Have:

• Experience designing, implementing, or validating clinical decision-support tools
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks or healthcare data governance practices
• Background in nursing informatics, pharmacy informatics, or health information management
