This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and domain specialists who want to apply their expertise in a high-impact, forward-looking way. No prior AI experience needed — your scientific knowledge is what matters.

What You'll Do

• Develop, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with real-world scientific relevance
• Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related disciplines to design complex, rigorous problem statements
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to enhance AI model reasoning across environmental science topics
• Evaluate the scientific accuracy, clarity, and depth of AI-generated content and responses
• Ensure scientific rigor is maintained across all deliverables — from problem framing to solution validation
• Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, Earth Systems, or a closely related field
• Strong expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, environmental policy, or related areas
• Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or data analysis purposes
• Exceptional written communication skills — you can explain complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely
• Naturally detail-oriented with a rigorous, methodical approach to scientific problem-solving
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in an asynchronous environment

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in scientific writing, peer review, or academic publishing
• Experience working across interdisciplinary environmental research areas
• Familiarity with AI tools or large language models as an end user
