Anyone who can visit one of our study sites for a single weekday session can join. This study is a great fit for:

People of all backgrounds are welcome. We’re looking for real people having real conversations.

Sessions are video- and audio-recorded with your written consent. You must be 18 or older and complete a short online screening. Some eligibility criteria apply, and not everyone who applies will be selected.

What is an in-person research study?

In‑person research study records video and audio of people having natural conversations. The recordings will help a leading technology company build technology that better understands how people talk and interact with each other.

$110 for your time

You’ll receive $110 after you complete your session. Travel and other expenses aren’t reimbursed separately.

After a short online onboarding, pick the time and the study location that work best for you.

One session and you’re done

You’ll visit a study site for a single session of about 90 minutes. There’s nothing to prepare and no follow‑up sessions.

Small groups, friendly faces

Each session has 2 to 4 participants, including a moderator from the study team who keeps the conversation flowing.

What happens in the session, step by step

• Arrival A coordinator meets you, confirms your identity, and shows you where to go.
• The studio Your session takes place in a small studio inside an office space, with a moderator who joins the conversation and a session director who guides the process.
• A short intro video Before recording starts, you’ll watch a video of just a couple of minutes that explains what to expect.
• The conversation Sit and talk with the moderator and any other participants about everyday topics, like celebrating a birthday, filing an insurance claim, or how a job interview went.

Good to know before you come

Only about 15 minutes of the session is actual talking. The rest is time to settle in, get comfortable, and learn what to do.

No acting skills needed. The goal is to keep things casual and natural, like chatting with people you know.

You’ll get simple prompts during the conversation, like asking a question in a certain mood, being a bit more assertive, or interrupting someone. The moderator will help you every step of the way.

There are no sensitive or personal topics.
