About the Role

We're looking for Japanese language experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on Japanese-language content. Your linguistic and cultural insight will directly shape how AI understands, generates, and communicates in Japanese — making a real impact on one of the world's most nuanced and complex languages.

• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

• Review AI-generated Japanese content for linguistic accuracy, tone, and natural flow
• Identify issues related to formality levels (keigo), register, idioms, and cultural context
• Suggest culturally appropriate and idiomatic alternatives where needed
• Provide structured, written feedback to improve overall localization quality
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese
• Strong written communication skills in both Japanese and English
• Deep understanding of Japanese cultural norms, social registers, and linguistic nuance
• Experience adapting or evaluating content for Japanese audiences
• Comfortable evaluating written language quality at scale
• Attention to detail and consistency
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Background in translation, localization, or content adaptation
• Familiarity with AI or language evaluation workflows
• Experience with regional Japanese language variation or dialect awareness
