Who We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates with expertise or an interest in developing their capabilities across:

• Music & Music Theory: Composition, harmony, rhythm, instrumentation, musicology and genre analysis.
• Music Production & Songwriting: Arrangement, recording, mixing, mastering and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
• Film & Media Scoring: Music for film, television, gaming and advertising, including orchestration and synchronisation to picture.
• Sound Design & Audio Engineering: Sound effects, Foley, audio processing, recording and audio quality assessment.
• Music Technology & Research: Digital music production, audio analysis and AI-assisted music creation.

What You May Work On

Depending on your demonstrated skills and project requirements, activities may include:

• Evaluating AI-generated music against written descriptions and visual content.
• Assessing musical genre, instrumentation, rhythm, mood and structure.
• Reviewing composition, arrangement, mixing, mastering and overall audio quality.
• Annotating sound effects and identifying audio defects, noise or distortion.
• Evaluating film scores for synchronisation, emotional impact and alignment with on-screen action.
• Applying annotation guidelines, reviewing examples and completing quality checks.

How to qualify

Eligibility Requirements

You can qualify through academic qualifications or a skills-based evaluation. A relevant degree is welcome, but candidates without one may still qualify by demonstrating their skills.

Pathway 1: Academic Qualification

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Music, Music Technology, Music Production, Composition, Audio Engineering, Sound Design or a related discipline.
• Relevant musical knowledge and analytical listening skills.
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating your capabilities.

Pathway 2: Skills-Based Qualification



• Relevant practical experience or demonstrable skills in music, audio production, composition or sound design.
• Successful completion of a skills-based evaluation covering relevant musical knowledge, critical listening, audio analysis and technical ability.
• Portfolio or work samples, where available, to support your application.

Requirements for All Candidates

• English proficiency: B2 CEFR level or above; native English speakers are also welcome.
• Attention to detail: Ability to analyse music and audio accurately.
• Guideline adherence: Ability to follow structured instructions and assessment criteria.
• Reliability: Ability to meet deadlines and project requirements.
• Technical skills: Familiarity with relevant audio tools or DAWs, such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase or Pro Tools, is advantageous.
• Professional experience is beneficial but not essential where candidates can demonstrate the required skills through academic work, personal projects or a skills-based evaluation.
