We're looking for Materials Science specialists — Masters and PhD level — to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models on advanced scientific content.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and domain experts who want meaningful, intellectually engaging work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience needed — just rigorous scientific knowledge and a sharp eye for quality.

What You'll Do

• Develop, solve, and critically review advanced material science problems with real-world scientific relevance
• Apply your expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related specialisations to design complex, rigorous problem sets
• Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning and identify gaps in accuracy, depth, and logic
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to improve model performance
• Ensure scientific rigour, clarity, and depth across all deliverables
• Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Master's or PhD in Materials Science or a closely related field
• Strong specialisation in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or equivalent research areas
• Comfortable coding in Python or MATLAB — whether from research, coursework, or projects
• Exceptionally clear written communicator who can translate complex science into precise, structured language
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable when working independently
• Based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in academic research, publishing, or technical writing
• Familiarity with AI tools or scientific benchmarking platforms
