About the Role

We're looking for mechanical engineering experts to help train and improve some of the world's most advanced AI models. Working with Alignerr, you'll put your deep technical knowledge to work — designing complex engineering problems, authoring rigorous solutions, and auditing AI reasoning across domains like fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and mechatronics.

What You'll Do

• Design Complex Engineering Problems — Craft advanced, multi-domain mechanical engineering challenges covering areas like FEA (Finite Element Analysis), heat transfer, kinematics, and material science to rigorously stress-test AI performance.
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop precise, step-by-step technical solutions and "golden responses" that serve as the benchmark for AI learning and evaluation.
• Audit Technical Reasoning — Review AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety compliance, and adherence to engineering standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
• Refine AI Thinking — Identify logical errors in AI-generated reasoning — such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or flawed material assumptions — and provide structured, actionable feedback to improve model quality.

Who You Are

• Advanced Degree — Master's (pursuing or completed) or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Strong Domain Knowledge — Deep expertise in one or more core areas: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes.
• Clear Technical Communicator — Able to explain complex physical phenomena and mathematical derivations in precise, well-structured written form.
• Highly Detail-Oriented — Meticulous when checking mathematical derivations, unit conversions, boundary conditions, and physical system constraints.
• No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed.

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation workflows
• Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes (ASME, ISO, ASTM)
