Multilingual OCR Annotation Specialist

Work with images containing text and help create accurate training data for AI systems. You’ll identify text within images, organize it into meaningful lines, and transcribe it accurately to support the development of more reliable AI-powered text recognition technology.

About this project

This remote annotation opportunity focuses on helping AI systems better recognize and understand text found in images.

You’ll review images to determine whether they meet annotation requirements, identify and box text according to semantic lines, and accurately transcribe the content within each selected area.

This is detail-focused work where accuracy, consistency, and careful attention to written guidelines are essential.

What you’ll do

• Review images and confirm whether they meet the conditions required for annotation.
• Identify text within images and draw bounding boxes around semantic text lines.
• Accurately transcribe all text contained within each annotated area.
• Apply the appropriate flags when required by the project guidelines.
• Follow detailed annotation instructions to maintain consistent, high-quality results.
• Flag content appropriately when it cannot be confidently annotated rather than making assumptions.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in one of the eligible languages and residence in the corresponding target country.
• Strong reading and writing skills in your selected language.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
• Ability to follow detailed written instructions consistently.
• Access to a computer with a stable internet connection.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Previous experience with annotation, transcription, OCR, proofreading, or similar language-focused tasks is a plus.

We’re currently looking for contributors for the following language and location combinations:

• Catalan — Spain
• Finnish — Finland
• Hebrew — Israel

Applicants should have native-level proficiency in the language associated with the location they apply for.
