Offensive Security Analyst (Structured / Non-Exploit)
About this role
Offensive Security Analyst (Structured / Non-Exploit)
About the Role
What if your ability to think like an adversary could directly shape how AI understands and reasons about cybersecurity threats? We're looking for Offensive Security Analysts to bring real-world attack knowledge to the frontier of AI development — analyzing kill chains, modeling adversary behavior, and helping build AI systems that truly understand how threats operate.
This role is focused on structured adversarial reasoning, not exploit development. You'll work with realistic attack scenarios to map how threats move through systems, where defenses fail, and how risk propagates across modern environments — then translate that expertise into high-quality training data for cutting-edge AI models.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze attack paths, kill chains, and adversary strategies across realistic, real-world system environments
- Identify and classify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and defensive gaps with precision
- Review and evaluate red-team style scenarios and intrusion narratives for accuracy and depth
- Generate, label, and validate adversarial reasoning data used to train and evaluate AI systems
- Clearly articulate attack chains, potential impact, and strategic tradeoffs in structured formats
- Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in pentesting, red team operations, or a blue-team role with deep attack knowledge
- Strong understanding of how real attacks unfold in production environments — from initial access to lateral movement and impact
- Able to communicate complex attack chains clearly and concisely in writing
- Analytical thinker who can break down adversary decision-making and map it to structured frameworks
- Detail-oriented and consistent — you bring rigor to ambiguous, open-ended scenarios
- No exploit development or active offensive tooling required for this role
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, or STRIDE
- Experience with threat modeling, purple team exercises, or security architecture review
- Background in incident response, threat intelligence, or security operations
- Exposure to cloud environments, Active Directory, or enterprise network security
- Prior experience writing technical security documentation, reports, or assessments
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside world-leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-impact work
- Apply your offensive security expertise to a genuinely novel and consequential problem space
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
A legitimate, well-funded platform (built by Labelbox) with strong rates for experts. The real catch is availability — per-approved-task pay and quiet stretches between projects.
