Open Source Maintainer Expert

AfterQuery is looking for open source maintainers to review code for a paid, remote project. You will review real engineering tasks and judge the quality of the work, the same way you review pull requests on the projects you maintain. Work is flexible at 5 to 20 hours a week, and each review takes about 30 minutes. This role is for people who maintain or review code for established open source projects, not for occasional contributors. Please include your GitHub profile when you apply.

Responsibilities

• Review code changes for correctness, design and maintainability
• Write clear, specific feedback on what works and what does not
• Flag bugs, security issues and missed edge cases
• Keep a consistent, high bar across reviews

Required qualifications

• Maintainer, core contributor or regular reviewer on an open source project with 1,000+ GitHub stars
• Substantial merged work in established repositories and a history of reviewing other people's pull requests
• 3+ years of public GitHub activity
• Strong written English

Preferred qualifications

• Maintainer of a widely used library, framework or developer tool
• Experience reviewing in more than one language or ecosystem
• Professional software engineering experience
