A Day in the Life of a Personalized Internet Ads Assessor

In this role, you will evaluate commercial digital content against strict policy and quality frameworks. Your judgment determines whether ads meet compliance standards, communicate honestly, and serve local market context appropriately.

• Evaluate online ad content, landing pages, and commercial messaging against detailed policy compliance and quality frameworks
• Assess local market relevance and brand intent across diverse commercial sectors, considering regional consumer expectations and cultural norms
• Apply structured compliance reasoning to identify misleading, deceptive, low-quality, or policy-violating ad placements
• Distinguish borderline cases where ads approach but do not cross policy lines, using detailed reasoning frameworks

Requirements:

• Professional fluency in English and Malaysian (native or near-native proficiency required)
• Residency in Malaysia for the last 3 consecutive years
• Strong analytical thinking and detail-oriented evaluation capability
• Deep local market fluency and commercial awareness in Malaysia
• Emotional composure and impartial judgment when reviewing provocative or policy-borderline content
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional) in a technical, analytical, or humanities discipline (preferred)
• Ability to apply detailed frameworks consistently across varying task types
• Access to a stable broadband internet, a reliable computer and a smartphone (Android 4.1+ or iOS 8+)

Service Rates

Compensation is based on tasks completed and project availability. Estimated earnings may vary depending on task volume and program requirements including, quality, and productivity, in accordance with the program's quality standards and guidelines.

Independent Contractor Relationship

This opportunity is offered on an independent contractor basis. Contributors have the flexibility to choose when and how much they work, subject to project availability and quality requirements. What does the role involve?

The job will involve evaluating online advertisements in order to improve their content, quality and layout. You will be required to provide feedback and analysis on advertisements found in search engine results and provide ratings on their relevance to the search terms used. Work will be provided to you as a list of tasks through an online work system

Do I need any special qualification or skills for this role?

The skill set for this role is not highly technical. You need to be familiar with browsing the internet, speak English and the Laguage of the role you are applying for, have high speed/ broadband access to the internet. You also need to own a Smartphone (Android version 4.2 or higher or iPhone running iOS version 14.0 or higher). You will be required to pass an exam before you can complete any work.

Do I require any specific software or are there any technical requirements for this role?

Candidates must have a Gmail address in order to take the exam. The exam must be completed using Google Chrome Web Browser on a desktop PC or laptop. You will be required to complete some tasks using a specific Smartphone (Android V4.2 or higher or iPhone running iOS version 14.0 or higher). A high speed internet connection is also required.

Can I apply for two positions at the same time?

In some circumstances, contributors can work on two projects however this is not universal and the recruitment team can inform you if it is possible with the positions you are applying for.

Can family members also apply for the same role?

Only one member per household may apply for this role. If you successfully pass the exam your work on the program must be of an individual nature and completed in private. Sharing of material or answers is strictly prohibited either during the exam or whilst working on the program. Our Rating Quality team will be monitoring your work on a daily basis so it is important that your work is of a high quality and standard and of an individual nature. Please note you CANNOT use the same computer/IP Address as another user for this role, IP addresses are logged and recorded as we need to be able to identify work on an individual basis on the program. The use of VPNs, Proxy Servers, IP Unblockers, Hosting Services or any software that may route your Internet traffic outside of your country of residence is strictly prohibited throughout the application process, exam and when onboard this program. Intentional use of these services whilst working on the program will result in termination of your services agreement with the company and in non-payment for services provided to protect the integrity of our customer’s data

What notice do I have to give if I do not want to continue with the role?

We would expect that you provide us with reasonable notice but you are not under any legal obligations to provide us with a specific notice period as you are working in an independent capacity.

What if I am going on holiday or I am sick?

We would appreciate it if you could let us know, however you are not obliged to do so as you are working in an independent capacity. If your account is in-active on our system for a prolonged period then your access will be removed from the program. The maximum amount of time that can be blocked out is 30 days but this can be extended in exceptional circumstances.

May I be permitted to leave the program for an extended period of time?

Unfortunately we cannot hold roles open for long periods of time due to fluctuation in work demand

What is the process of leaving the program?

You must inform the Community team if you wish to leave.

What if I’m moving to another country?

It is required that you live in the country of the position you applied for (for cultural awareness reasons). If you no longer meet this requirement, unfortunately you will be removed from the program. Please notify the Community team if you are moving to another country, and we will be happy to redirect you to other possible suitable roles.

What does the exam consist of?

The exam consists of 4 task sections which will give you an opportunity to see the kinds of tasks you will be rating when hired. The tasks in the exam are not real tasks, but are pre-set questions to give you the best idea of what the job will be like.

How long is the exam?

There are 4 task categories in the exam and each task set contains a different number of tasks. You will only proceed to the next task set if you have passed the previous one. The time required to complete each task set varies. However, before starting the next task set, we recommend that you ensure that you are available for the next hour. This will ensure you allow yourself sufficient time to complete the taskset. You are given 7 days to complete the entire exam.

How do I access the exam?

Once you have been added to the exam, we will send you a Welcome email. Within 24 hours of receiving this, you will have access to the exam platform. In order to access the exam, you will need to be logged in to your PC/Laptop with your Work email address, which is the email starting with “ti” that you created.

What is the Contractor Agreement?

The Contractor Agreement is not a contract of employment. It is a Confidentiality Agreement. Agreeing to the terms of this agreement means that you do not disclose, share or duplicate any of the information that you are working on to others. We require contributors to accept this Agreement by completing our Terms & Conditions Questionnaire.

I would prefer a full-time, permanent position-is this possible?

The position you are applying for is a Part-time, independent contractor position and we do not foresee this position becoming permanent.
