About the Role

We're looking for Physics Experts to help evaluate and improve the scientific reasoning of large language models — the same AI systems that millions of researchers, students, and professionals rely on every day.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for PhDs and advanced physicists. No AI background needed — just deep domain knowledge and a rigorous analytical mind.

What You'll Do
- Design challenging, original physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and beyond — from undergraduate to PhD level
- Develop clear, rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate expert-level reasoning
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for scientific accuracy, logical soundness, and clarity
- Identify gaps, errors, and weaknesses in how AI approaches complex physical problems
- Collaborate with researchers to develop and refine evaluation benchmarks that push the limits of AI capability
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Pursuing or holding a PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
- Deeply comfortable with advanced physics problem-solving across multiple domains
- Able to articulate complex reasoning clearly and precisely in writing
- Detail-oriented and rigorous — you notice when a derivation doesn't add up
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No prior AI or machine learning experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or quality assurance workflows
- Familiarity with AI tools or language model outputs as an end user
- Background in physics education, academic research, or technical writing
- Exposure to computational physics or simulation methods
