About the Role

AI is rapidly becoming a tool for policy analysis, economic modeling, and public decision-making — and it needs expert guidance to get things right. We're looking for experienced public policy economists to help evaluate and improve AI-generated content in economics and policy. Your expertise will directly shape how AI systems reason about regulation, welfare programs, fiscal policy, and economic tradeoffs.

This is a flexible, remote contract role that lets you contribute to cutting-edge AI development on your own schedule.

What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate AI-generated public policy questions, explanations, and economic analyses for accuracy and rigor
• Assess economic reasoning across topics such as regulation, welfare economics, public finance, and program evaluation
• Identify errors, logical gaps, or misleading conclusions in AI-generated policy content
• Provide clear, structured written feedback to improve the quality, clarity, and real-world applicability of AI outputs
• Validate economic scenarios, assumptions, and policy recommendations using your applied expertise
• Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience working or teaching in public policy, applied economics, or a closely related field
• Strong command of policy analysis frameworks and economic tradeoff reasoning
• Able to critically evaluate written economic arguments and identify analytical weaknesses
• Skilled at providing detailed, constructive written feedback
• Self-directed and reliable — comfortable working independently without close supervision

Nice to Have

• Graduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline
• Professional experience in government agencies, think tanks, or policy research institutions
• Familiarity with AI tools, content evaluation workflows, or data annotation platforms
