Role Overview

Responsible for developing electronic hardware designs from initial requirements through component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, and design validation, with a focus on power electronics and automotive applications.

Experience: 6–12 years

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze product requirements and translate them into hardware specifications.
  • Develop circuit architectures and select appropriate electronic components based on electrical ratings, performance, reliability, availability, and cost.
  • Design schematics for DC-DC converters, power supplies, battery management, protection circuits, and automotive power electronics.
  • Perform component-level calculations and assess voltage, current, power dissipation, thermal performance, and protection requirements.
  • Develop PCB layouts with appropriate power routing, grounding, thermal management, creepage and clearance, EMI/EMC, and DFM considerations.
  • Review datasheets, application notes, reference designs, and component libraries.
  • Perform schematic reviews, PCB design-rule checks, and design verification.
  • Prepare design documentation, BOMs, and manufacturing outputs.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of power electronics and electronic circuit design.
  • Experience with component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout tools such as KiCad (mandatory).
  • Understanding of switching regulators, MOSFETs, gate drivers, protection circuits, and power distribution.
  • Knowledge of thermal management, EMI/EMC, isolation, and PCB manufacturing requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive electronics, DC-DC converters, battery systems, or power supply design.
  • Prototype bring-up, debugging, and hardware validation.
