What You'll Do

• Design, build, and optimize high-performance systems in Go, Rust, Python, or C++
• Develop backend services and tooling for large-scale data annotation, validation, and evaluation workflows
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines supporting AI model training and benchmarking
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, edge cases, and failure modes across data and system layers
• Improve performance, scalability, and correctness across existing production codebases
• Collaborate directly with data, research, and engineering teams on model-facing infrastructure
• Participate in architecture reviews and iterate on system design decisions with senior peers

Who You Are

• 5+ years of professional experience with Go, Rust, Python, or C++
• Strong background in systems or backend engineering — you think in terms of performance, reliability, and correctness
• Proven experience shipping production services, developer tooling, or data pipelines at scale
• Able to reason clearly about failure modes, trade-offs, and system behavior under load
• Clear, precise communicator — in code, in writing, and in technical discussion
• Available to commit 20–40 hours per week on a contractor basis

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation systems, data quality pipelines, or model evaluation infrastructure
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, training pipelines, or benchmarking systems
• Background in distributed systems or high-throughput data processing
• Experience building developer tooling or internal platform infrastructure
